On the Pleading Dress: I like the idea that this dress would the one used during the Bargaining Stage, for what I understand this stage of grief consists in the fixation of the patient on one condition that, if fulfilled, would make everything better again, So I thought that somebody in Wonderland would guilt trip Alice into being a good girl, ensuring that this behavior would make things right, so Good Little Girls do not carry weapons around, they do not run around like a March Hare and they do not eat sweets they found on the ground, effectively making Alice a Good Little Ghost.
