The Catterpillar
The sage of Wonderland.
Mature and wise, but distant and fading. A Caterpillar with any “age” on him is on the way to becoming a butterfly.
This transformation is inevitable but unspoken; it adds both urgency and acceptance to his advice and behaviour.
