Grimm Episode 12 – “Cinderella”

Cinderella (Dark)

Dark Cinderella

Grimm’s back! This week he’s adding his dark touch to the uber-classic “Cinderella”. This was actually one of the first episodes we built for Grimm – but because it was so early, it turned out really rough. So we completely scrapped the original design, rebuilt the entire thing, and pushed the release date to NOW.

And in following what has become another weekly tradition, here’s David Craddock over at BigDownload giving us a positive review of the latest episode: “After a bit of moping around due to her abhorrent mistreatment at the hands of her step-mother and step-sisters, Grimm’s antagonistic aura injects Cinderella with a bit of spunk. Rather than simpering when she can’t go to the ball, Cindy gets peeved and punches a villager in his jaw. The unfortunate victim of circumstance flies backward and becomes wedged in the rump of the horse pulling the step-sisters’ ball-bound carriage. This humorous sequence of event culminates with the startled animal unleashing a spray of urine that drenches the sisters.”

Um yeah. Grimm’s sick like that.

Go check it out on GameTap!

  1. Not sure if Mr.McGee will see this…

American McGee! I worked with you at Ion Storm years ago. (Different project though.) Cool to see how your career has gone…

I subscribed to GameTap just to lay Grimm. Feels like the best money I ever spent… I LOVE the episodic releases. I have VERY little time to play games, and getting a weekly new-chunk of game to play for a respectable time is GENIUS.

I LOVE how each is self-contained… The game never feels heavy – it just feels like entertainment.

The world is genius – the art design… I had to play for a few minutes before I “got” the game, but once it clicked — it’s one of my favorites now.

I love exploring each world and watching the objects change to dark – sometimes even laughing out loud at the results…

My favorite is the sound the characters make when they get turned dark.

Anyhow, I hope you keep making Grimm for many seasons to come… As long as there’s Grimm I’ll be a GameTap subscriber. I friggin’ love it. It’s so simple and just fun… good to play after a hard day’s work.

    I love you American McGee!
    hehe

  2. I found this episode to be more difficult than the others with the clock and staircase. Especially the staircase.

When I finished, I was happy to see the eye peckin, however was a bit dissapointed in that the stepsister didnt have her foot cut to fit in the slipper.
